Jambi, 17 September 2019 – PT Inti Indosawit Subur (Asian Agri) today conducted basic medical checks and distributed masks in Merlung District, Tanjung Jabung Barat Regency in Jambi province, with the purpose of reducing the impact of haze which has spread over the region.
The Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activity took place in the Penyabungan Village Office in Merlung. Carried out in collaboration with the local government and local health centers, it was an important step towards safeguarding the health of the community who reside around the company’s operations who are exposed to the haze.
Doctor Erwin Agus, Head of Merlung Health Center, said :“With this program, the villagers, ranging from toddlers to the elderly, were able to have their health checked in a Penyabungan Village which was easily accessible to them.”
On the same occasion, Welly Pardede, Head of CSR at Asian Agri, invited the residents to learn about fire safety and the importance of collective efforts in preventing and protecting their areas from fires.
In conducting the activity, Asian Agri provided medical staff which included two doctors and three nurses to serve residents who were seeking health checks and treatment.
