The formation of the Fire-Free Alliance (FFA) was announced 11 March 2016. The alliance is a voluntary, multi-stakeholder platform to help solve land and forest fires in Indonesia.
These companies are joined by non-governmental organisations PM.Haze, Rumah Pohon and IDH.
The Fire-Free Alliance announcement was made on the second day of the general assembly of the Tropical Forest Alliance (TFA) in Jakarta. It was seen as part of larger preparations to handle the potential threat of forest and land fires.
