Labuhanbatu, 8 May 2025 – As part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) commitment, Asian Agri, through its business unit PT Indo Sepadan Jaya (ISJ), repaired a 237-meter drainage canal in Dusun Lestari, Kampung Padang Village, Pangkatan District, Labuhanbatu Regency. The project, carried out between April 18 and May 2, 2025, was in response to a request from local residents.

The canal serves a dual purpose — as a water drainage system and a shared access route used by both the company’s operations and surrounding communities.

“We aim to foster collaboration between the company and the community in improving overall well-being, especially in infrastructure, social, and environmental aspects,” saidthe Plantation Coordinator at PT ISJ, Norton Sitorus.

The Head of Aek Nauli village, Edi Iswanto expressed appreciation for the company’s responsiveness to the community’s concerns. “PT ISJ has answered our needs. We live next to the company’s operations, and it’s important that we maintain safety and order together,” he said during an on-site visit.

Edi also encouraged continued collaboration between the company and local residents, particularly in infrastructure development. “Since this road is used by all of us, we hope the company can gradually support road repairs too. We hope this becomes one of their CSR priorities,” he added.

The Sustainability Operation & CSR Manager of Asian Agri, Putu Gryhate Yaksaemphasized the company’s long-term commitment to the community. “As part of this community, we believe that our operational success must go hand in hand with the well-being of the people around us. What PT ISJ has done in Dusun Lestari reflects our long-term dedication to building a harmonious and sustainable relationship,” he said.

In March 2025, PT ISJ also supported residents affected by structural damage to their homes by donating 150 sacks of cement. Each of the 75 affected homes received two sacks.
