Medan, 8th September 2016 – Asian Agri, through its subsidiary PT. Supra Mitra Abadi, provided educational assistance to 115460 Primary School in Teluk Panji Village, Kampung Rakyat Regency, Labuhan Batu Selatan District, Medan Province.

 Witnessed by head of Asian Agri’s Sustainability Operation & CSR, Welly Pardede, on September 1st, the assistance was given as an educational CSR program by plantation manager Bibit Sembiring to The Principal of 115460 Primary School, Tuarti S.Pd.

The assistance including construction of a bore well, supply of chairs and desks, and renovation of bathrooms and classrooms. The renovation was conducted in conjunction with teachers, parents, and employees.

Tuarti thanked the company for its assistance.”I would like to thank Asian Agri through PT. Supra Mitra Abadi for its help for our school. We always try our best to ensure that our students here always get the best knowledge and lesson for their future,” she said. 

Asian Agri is committed to empowering local people in its areas of operation. “Asian Agri does its CSR programs in our village every year. And it’s very helpful,” said Tuarti.

The company also donated 1,000 seeds, including mango, durian, longan, and rose apple, to enable the villagers to increase their self sufficiency in food.

Out of 20 mills, 14 have received certification from ISPO (Indonesian Sustainable Palm Oil where as the remaining mills have gone through stringent ISPO audit process. It is targeted to have both RSPO & ISPO certification completed by 2016.
