Tanjung Jabung Barat, 19 March, 2025 — In line with its ongoing commitment to supporting surrounding communities, Asian Agri has launched its annual Affordable Premium Cooking Oil Bazaar across its three operational areas: North Sumatra, Riau, and Jambi. The event runs from March 12 to March 22, 2025, offering high-quality cooking oil at reduced prices in the lead-up to the Eid al-Fitr celebrations.
“This initiative reflects our 5C philosophy—Good for the Community, Good for the Country, Good for the Climate, Good for the Customer, and Good for the Company,” said The Head of Operations at Asian Agri, Omri Samosir. “The bazaar is one of our ways of delivering tangible benefits to local communities. By offering premium cooking oil at an affordable price, we hope to ease the burden on families preparing for the holiday season.”
During the event, residents can purchase VIP-brand premium cooking oil at a subsidized price, with a purchase limit of two liters per person to ensure fair distribution.
In Jambi, more than 8,000 liters of cooking oil have been sold to 35 villages this year alone, according toThe Regional Head for Asian Agri in Jambi, Ramli Simarmata.
“Business sustainability is not only about financial performance,” said Ramli. “It also includes social and environmental impact. We remain committed to supporting food security and promoting responsible business practices. We hope this bazaar helps communities in need while strengthening the relationship between our company and the people who live around us.”
One of the participating business units in Jambi is PT Inti Indosawit Subur – Kebun Tungkal Ulu (PT IIS), which held a bazaar in Bukit Harapan Village, Merlung District, Tanjung Jabung Barat Regency. PT IIS also organized similar events in nine other villages across Merlung and Renah Mendaluh districts.
The Plasma Manager at PT IIS – Kebun Tungkal Ulu, Ricky H. Tanjung said the initiative aims to provide greater access to affordable, high-quality cooking oil, particularly during Ramadan when the prices of basic goods tend to rise.
Bukit Harapan Village Head Anang Umar Faruq welcomed the initiative and expressed appreciation for Asian Agri’s efforts.
“We are grateful to PT IIS for organizing the Affordable Premium Cooking Oil Bazaar. It’s been a great help to our community during this festive period. We hope the company will expand the program in the future to include more goods and reach more people,” he said.
Throughout Ramadan this year, Asian Agri has distributed over 28,000 liters of affordable premium cooking oil across 99 villages in North Sumatra, Riau, and Jambi.
