The efforts to eliminate the spread of COVID-19 in rural areas are carried out by stakeholders through various ways and in every opportunity. As part of its corporate social responsibility, Asian Agri helps villagers in North Sumatra, Riau and Jambi to fight against Covid-19 by providing sanitation facilities as well as masks.

The initiative taken by Asian Agri is in collaboration with the government, the National Police, the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), and village officials in the three provinces where Asian Agri operates.

Asian Agri’s HSE and CSR Head, Welly Pardede, said, “We are aware of the importance of collective efforts to remind all communities in the village of the danger of the virus and how to prevent the disease in their respective environments. By adhering the rules of maintaining physical distancing and wearing masks, we spread the information that is easily understood by the general public through posters, banners and also directly when delivering aid to the community and village officials”.
