Asian Agri, an oil palm plantation company that supports a sustainable palm oil industry by consistently implementing the principles of forest and land fires prevention. This commitment shows in the webinar activity “Forest and Land Fires Control during the Covid-19 Pandemic”, which attended by the Head of the Center for Control of Climate Change and Forest and Land Fires in Sumatra, Ferdian Krisnanto, S.Hut. M.P, Head of the Manggala Agni Operations Region of Sumatra VI, Ihsan Abdillah; Secretary of Manggala Agni Sumatra VI Region, Putri Laila Komari, and Asian Agri management.

Fire Free Village Manager of Asian Agri, Hafiz Hazalin Sinaga, said that the company realizes that the concept of effective forest and land fire control is to carry out prevention activities as early as possible.

“In the midst of the Covid 19 pandemic and the rainy season, we are trying our best to keep practicing our skills to be better prepared for the disasters of forest and land fires in the coming years because if the disasters come, we don’t know the time and place,” said Hafiz.

Therefore, Asian Agri and its business units spread across 3 provinces, North Sumatra, Riau and Jambi, will remain alert in controlling the risks and impacts of forest and land fires as early as possible.
