Asian Agri through 10 of its subsidiaries collaborated with the Pekanbaru Environment and Forestry Training Centre (BDLHK) to provide training on forest fire prevention in the oil palm companies, held between April 20 and May 4.

According to Kamaruddin, Head of Pekanbaru BDLHK, the training aims to improve the knowledge and abilities of the companies’ fire safety team with the result that they can quickly anticipate land fires.

Welly Pardede, Asian Agri Head of Sustainability Operations and CSR said that knowledge given by BDLHK will be the guide to held more training in the future.

Meanwhile, Rafmen, Head of the Indonesian Palm Oil Association (GAPKI) in Pekanbaru said that GAPKI highly appreciates the oil palm companies who actively involved in the improvement of the human resource as well as fire management.
