Asian Agri is optimistic that it will achieve its One to One Commitment partnership program target in 2018.

“Asian Agri is expecting to match its 100,000 hectares of core palm oil plantation with 100,000 hectares of plantation owned by smallholders by this year,” said Fadhil Hasan, Asian Agri Director of Corporate Affairs.

As of now, the partnership between Asian Agri and plasma smallholders has reached 60,000 hectares, while the partnership between the company and independent smallholders has achieved 31,000 hectares.

“The remaining 9,000 hectares will be achieved by the end of 2018 in three provinces, namely North Sumatra, Jambi and Riau,” Fadhil said.

Fadhil added that the One to One Commitment partnership program is expected to help farmers to better manage their plantations with the best farming practices.

“With real steps such as this partnership system, the issues in the Indonesian palm oil industry can be easily solved,” he said.
