[ANTARA] ASIAN AGRI HANDS OVER MANAGEMENET OF OIL PALM PLANTS TO SMKN 1 SILANGKITANG

The management of PT Supra Matra Abadi (PT SMA) Kebun Aek Nabara (Asian Agri Group) handed over the first harvest of the oil palm trees to SMK Negeri 1 Silangkitang, Labuhanbatu Selatan, North Sumatra.

“About 108 oil palm trees that use Topaz superior seeds planted since 2017 in the school area are in production stage,” said Senior Manager of PT SMA Kebun Aek Nabara, Friendky Rumahorbo.

As a result, 87 fresh fruit bunches (FFB) weighing 286 kg have been harvested. Asian Agri’s management wishes that the plantation will become a learning facility of oil palm cultivation for students and can be a source of additional funds to support school’s programs.

Friendky emphasized the goal of the program is for students to understand oil palm cultivation and be able to help the community to properly cultivate oil palm with satisfying production results.
