Jambi, 28 June 2022 – Lubuk Bernai Village, Batang Asam District, West Tanjung Jabung Regency, Jambi Province, is a coffee-producing village. The village’s weather and conditions are conducive for coffee cultivation.

To further support the expansion of Lubuk Bernai Village’s coffee business, Asian Agri, through its business unit, PT Dasa Anugrah Sejati (PT DAS), provided a huller machine to help the coffee farmers maximise production.

“Currently, coffee farmers in Lubuk Bernai Village still cultivate the beans the traditional way. This is an obstacle for farmers as the processed products will not be optimal,” said Marpituah Saragih, Group Manager of PT DAS after handing over the two-function huller machine.

“The machine peels both dry and wet coffee beans more efficiently than traditional means,” explained Marpituah. He added that the Lubuk Bernai Village Head Wahyu Amrullah saw economic potential in the community in the area of coffee cultivation, which inspired the idea of the huller machine gift.

“The coffee business potential of Lubuk Bernai Village is starting to increase, so the Village Head wants the coffee production owned by farmers to develop immediately. Therefore, he has submitted a request to provide coffee huller machines,” Wahyu Amrullah said.

Asian Agri has a CSR program that addresses the requests of the communities. We hope that the community of Lubuk Bernai Village can develop and grow coffee, and also meaningfully contribute to the local economy,” he added.

The Lubuk Bernai Village Head thanked Asian Agri – PT DAS Group Kebun Taman Raja for providing this coffee peeler, saying: “This donation is very meaningful and beneficial for coffee farmers. We will continue to maintain good relations between the community and the company. We also hope the company will continue their support of the community here, ” he said.
