North Sumatra, June 11, 2018 – Asian Agri, through its business unit PT Nusa Pusaka Kencana (PT NPK), distributed 4,875 Lebaran packages to communities in North Sumatra, Riau and Jambi as part of a social responsibility program before Eid Mubarak 1439 H.

PT NPK Plantation Manager, Ronald Harianto Hutapea handed the first package directly to Head of Padanghulu Subdistrict of Tebing Tinggi City, Deny Andika on June 8, 2018 at Penggalian Village, Serdangbedagai Regency, North Sumatra.

Ronald said that the event is a tradition held by Asian Agri every year to meet the needs of the public before the holiday.

“This year we distributed the Eid Mubarak package to the elderly. Then we distributed to the surrounding communities, “said Ronald.

The Eid Mubarak package consisted of five kilogram of rice, as well as sugar, tea, coffee, syrup and clothes, and distribution began on 8 June.

“We are coordinating with the team to ensure that this assistance is well distributed and beneficial for the community,” Ronald said.

As well as this event, Asian Agri’s social responsibility program also includes supporting economic development, education, health and infrastructure to improve the welfare of people in communities in which the company operates.
